Peter Alkema Stacey Lee-Bolon has a wealth of experience in achieving student success which she shares in the form of practical tips, wisdom, and advice that can only come from deep experience. The experience comes from her 4 degrees and senior leadership position at Wits University as the President of the Convocation. She represents over 200,000 students and alumni on the university council.
During her lifelong studying, she has placed a huge emphasis on trying to achieve the “solve for education” particularly within a uniquely South African context.
In her leadership role in education, she has been focused on addressing the “missing middle”, a part of the population that didn’t benefit from the #feesmustfall movement.

In her personal capacity she has learnt how to learn, unlearn, pivot and adapt to changing work requirements. She has had a range of interests in different industries from sports to psychology.
She learned the hard way about the auto-save button when she lost a lot of her work for an assignment. Together with many other skills that he developed along the way, she has become an expert in student success.
She felt she underperformed at school but quickly made up for it in a string of degrees that certainly puts her in the top 5% of graduates from Wits University. She believes in Wayne Gretzky’s saying that
“you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
She is passionate about being a master of her own destiny, which she says is the single biggest piece of advice she would give students trying to get through their qualifications.
